What Does Umbodi Really Do? SEO Only?
Short answer: no. SEO is part of it, but Umbodi is an agent for search and AI-answer visibility — whether your site can be found on Google, and whether AI assistants cite it when people ask questions your business can answer. It is industry-agnostic: it reads your site, your market and your competitors rather than assuming a vertical.
It finds, ships and proves
Finds. Umbodi audits your pages for the issues that hold visibility back — titles, descriptions, structured data, canonicals, robots.txt, sitemaps, llms.txt and more. It measures where you actually rank on Google, imports your Search Console traffic, and asks five AI answer engines (Google AI Overview, Perplexity, OpenAI, Anthropic and Gemini) questions about your category, your brand and your own content, recording who they cite.
Ships. For each finding it proposes a concrete fix. By default every change ends with you: Umbodi prepares the change for you to paste, or opens a pull request on your repository for you to merge. If you separately opt in, it can merge on green and act on its own — inside limits you set.
Proves. After a change is applied, Umbodi re-reads the published page and records whether the change is really there. If you have opted into autonomous merging, it waits for the deploy and puts the change back if it did not take.
What it measures — and what it does not claim
Umbodi keeps two kinds of numbers apart, and labels them:
- Measured — read from Google, Search Console or the AI engines themselves. A rank is always a reading, never a calculation.
- Estimated — Umbodi's projection of what a change might be worth, always marked as an estimate.
A verified fix proves the fix is live. It does not prove a ranking improvement: indexing and ranking are Google's timeline, measured over days and weeks. You can see this discipline applied to Umbodi's own site on the proof page, and the full method on the methodology page.
Who it is for
Any business whose website matters to how customers find it — marketing teams who want visibility work done rather than reported, developers who want changes as reviewable pull requests, and leaders who want numbers they can trust because each one says where it came from.
So, SEO only?
No. Umbodi covers traditional search and the AI answers that increasingly sit in front of it, it acts rather than only reporting, and it shows its evidence. Start with a free analysis at umbodi.ai.
